Minnesota STEM Map
By Joey Kyle Stickels and Coryn Jacobson, updated April 2024
Are you interested in STEM, but uncertain of how to start learning about it? Is there a child in your life who is fascinated by the natural world, and would be excited to learn more? Are you stuck at home and need to get out of the house to experience something new? Do you just want to find a good place to take a walk and learn more about nature?
This map is intended as a resource for those looking for STEM institutions open to the public in their Minnesota communities. The map offers information about a variety of institutions in Minnesota, including museums, zoos, wildlife and nature centers, and much more. We have compiled information about each of these institutions to suit a variety of needs, including target age groups, hours of operation, wheelchair accessibility and more.
Please confirm hours by calling or checking the website before visiting!
These categories can be used to identify places you might want to go, and make educated decisions about your future visits to STEM institutions in Minnesota. Who knows, you might find out about some places you’ve never heard of before!
The map was made using the easy-to-use platform google maps. You can open and close the side-panel of the map by clicking the icon in the upper left corner. To navigate the various categories, open the side-panel and open the drop-down menus under each category. If you would like to view the full map page, you can click the icon in the upper right corner. You can zoom in and out of the map with the plus and minus icons in the lower left corner, or using your mouse scroll-wheel. If you are using a laptop track-pad, you may be able to zoom in and out by hovering over the map and using two fingers to make a pinching motion on the track-pad. Information about any given institution can be found by clicking on the pin on the map, or clicking on the name of the institution in the side-panel.
